Celebrating Catholic Schools Week!

This week we are celebrating Catholic schools and what makes us unique. Why do you send your child to a Catholic school? Check out the article below to read one perspective about what makes Catholic education different:
“You see, our Catholic school is more than just a school, it is a deeply invested community. A community. And in a world grown increasingly cold and harsh, a community of faith and warmth is an immeasurably important springboard in these young kids lives.” Click here to read the rest of Why my kids go to Catholic school?
Lots of activities this week for our students! Check out the schedule for the week and be prepared for lots of special events, service activities, and fun field trips. CSW Schedule 2018

Family Dodgeball Tournament and Kid Activities: Feb. 24

Save the date and start picking your team! The St. Charles Women’s Council is sponsoring a Family Dodgeball tournament Saturday, February 24, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in the St. Charles gym. Teams should be 6-8 players and can be made up of moms, dads, brothers, sisters, cousins, friends, etc. Be creative and have fun coming up with a name or theme for your team! More details and sign-up forms coming soon.

We will have a coloring area, concessions, and a movie for non-dodgeball players so bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun and community time! Cost is $10 a team for 6-8 players.

Our Annual Fund has kicked off!

The St. Charles School Annual Fund has kicked off and we’d love your support in reaching our $45,000 goal. We have a matching donation this year so your gift will go twice as far! Every gift made will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000. Your gift ensures the St. Charles experience will continue for current & future students. Thank you for your support!

Give online HERE or please send back your mailing envelope that was sent the week of 12/11/16. For questions, please call 612-781-2643 or email stchbschool@gmail.com.

This year’s Annual Fund will go toward:

  1. New computers for our Computer Lab
  2. Financial grants for families seeking tuition assistance. We want to ensure Catholic education is available to ALL families who want it!

Please note: The Annual Fund has developed over the past few years to help us generate support for our school and fund specific needs that arise outside of budget items. Going forward there will not be a Parish Gala with a Fund-A-Need giving opportunity every year. The Annual Fund will be the sole vehicle for bringing donations for these projects this year. In the future, in years when there is Fund-A-Need at the Gala it will support our Annual Fund and the identified school need for the year.

Ways you can support St. Charles School!

Give to the Max Day is Nov. 16!

Help St. Charles School raise funds for new computers and financial assistance!

St. Charles School is in need of replacing computers in our Computer Lab for our K-8 students. We are also raising funds to help families who request financial aid and tuition assistance. Your Give to the Max donation will help us deliver our school’s Mission to all families who want a Catholic Education. We greatly appreciate any amount you can donate. God bless!

Fall Fest is October 7!

It’s MARATHON time!

The St. Charles Annual School Marathon is around the corner! Mark your calendars for the Marathon on October 7 and start fundraising now. We hope you found your Marathon packet and sponsor log in your Back to School packet. This week we are officially kicking off Marathon season by visiting each classroom and telling our students about the Marathon, and how they can win some cool prizes!

The Marathon is our school’s community-building event and helps raise awareness of non-public education. It’s also the most important school fundraising event of the year. Donations raised through the marathon go directly to our school to support many programs and are a part of our operating budget. This year our overall school fundraising goal is $43,000. Last year our students surpassed their goal – we are hoping to do the same this year!

All students in Preschool through 8th grade and their families are invited to participate in the Marathon. Each student in kindergarten through 8th grade is asked to meet a minimum fundraising goal of $185 to help us reach our school goal. Students may find people to sponsor them for participating in the Marathon, or families may choose to make the fair share payment of $185 per student.

In addition to supporting our school through fundraising, students have an opportunity to earn LOTS of prizes thanks to generous donors. New this year – our Grand Prize winners will be randomly selected and include more than 15 prizes such as Beats headphones, a Drone, and an iPad!

The weather is still nice so we hope you take advantage and get out to your neighbors and friends soon!

Matching Fund Programs offered by many companies can help us reach our goal. Please check with your employer to see if your company or organization has a matching fund program for educational institutions. Some companies we have received matching funds from are: Ameriprise, Blue Cross Blue Shield, General Mills, McKesson, Medtronic, Reuters, Securian, United Way, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo.
